Church & Community Ministries

Church Ministries

Global Partners and the Wesleyan Church in Russia believe that the family is important. Therefore, we try to offer ministries that will uphold, strengthen, and minister to each member of the family.

For Adults

Our churches offer a wide range of ministry opportunities that they can be involved in such as:

  • Worship Services
  • Mid-week Prayer Meeting
  • Women's Ministries (Bible Studies, Monthly meetings, special events)
  • Home Groups

For Young Adults

Our young adult ministry is called CBOU (pronounced s vi e). They offer many different kinds of ministries throughout the week to help young adults grow in their relationship with God.

For Youth

For the teenager, there are several opportunities to seek and find God.  Sunday mornings offer not only the Worship Services, but a Sunday School class designed for teenagers. During the week, there is a home group they can attend and weekly youth meetings. In the winter, a Mid-winter Youth Retreat, is often held in January over the New Year's break. A week-long Youth Bible Festival is held each summer at a campground outside the city. Many of our current leaders came out of these camps.  There are also opportunities for the youth to be involved in ministry in the church. This past year, they have helped with Sunday School, served at the Couple's Dinner, helped with day camps, and assisted with the Yamarka (rummage sale) to raise money for missions.  God is faithfully raising up a new generation of leaders for the church in Russia.

For Children

Our Children's Ministries provide several different activities for kids from birth to 12 years of age.  During the Worship Service time a nursery is available for little ones.  The older kids stay in the service for the singing and then go to Bible classes. Children's weeklong day camps are offered several times a year in various locations. We have many faithful workers who serve in our children's ministries.

Community Ministries

Global Partners and the Wesleyan Church in Russia are also involved in ministries within the community. These ministries are not linked to a specific church, but are done by people from several churches. Missionaries and Russians of all ages serve together in the following ministries.

Orphanages

Children who have no parents, or who are not able to live with their parents, have a special place in God's heart. That is why He tells us in His Word not to forget them. These children also have a special place in our hearts. The number of children living in orphanages today is higher then the number who were in orphanages at the end of  WWII.  There is a great need for these kids to experience the love of God in tangible ways. We have more than 8 young women in our church who work in 11 institutes – ministering to over 440 orphans every week!

Camps

Camps are offered throughout the year at various locations and to different age groups of children and youth. These include sports camps (baseball basketball), children's camps, English camps, summer camps, and cheerleading camps. All of these are open to church kids and neighborhood kids.

Day camps are offered several times a year. Most of these are conducted in cooperation with schools in the surrounding villages. Occasionally offer one at the Ministry Center in Vladimir. This is usually a weeklong experience during the children's fall and spring breaks and sometimes during the summer. Find more information on our Day Camp Page

Compassion Ministries

Secondhand  --  This is a program for people who have need to come and receive clothing. Most of the clothing is donated by church members.

Financial Support  -  We also have a fund for people who are in need of financial assistance to buy food or medicine or other essential items.

Twelve-Step Program -  This is a program to help recovering alcoholics.  Alcoholism is a great problem here and several people have felt the need to help those who want to quit.

Social Needs  - There has been a rising awareness of the many social needs in Russia ranging from premarital sex to abortion, homelessness to drug abuse, family strife to abuse, single parents to AIDS babies.  These needs can be found in every level of society and at every age group. Several people in our churches have begun to feel God leading them to be more involved in meeting these needs in a practical way.  We praise God that he is raising up people who aren't willing to look the other way but desire to be involved in the solution.
